Exactly 30 days ago my friend and colleague Sarah Bedrick, forwarded me a TED Talk with Matt Cutts discussing a way to try new things and improve areas of your life with a 30 Day Challenge. I was inspired by Matt’s talk and challenged myself to publish a blog post every day for 30 days. This post is my 30th!
The experience of publishing daily to this blog has been an incredible one. At times challenging but at all time rewarding. I have once again engrossed myself in the world of eCommerce Inbound Marketing and gained a lot of valuable insights and knowledge along the way. I plan on continuing to publish on a very regular basis.
As a Inbound Marketing Consultant at HubSpot, I spend a lot of time strategizing and inspiring businesses of all kinds to create unique and remarkable content on a consistent basis. Much of the time I am speaking to small business owners who run their entire business as well as their online presence. Asking these owners to put in a full day worth of work and then publish an article afterwards can be asking a lot. I have now walked in their shoes and know what I am asking them to do. Working 8+ hours then coming home to publish an article can feel like a chore – until you start to see the results!
The above is a snapshot of my site traffic over the past 30 days. My site traffic has increased over 900% from the time I started!
Checkout Matt’s challenge below. I hope that you watch it and challenge yourself to either try something new or improve an area of your life you have been wanting to enhance.

Hi Mike,
I love this post and the video. (It is also a great example of what a good blog post should look like!)
I have been derelict in getting content on my blog but I am only a few weeks away from having my first book (along with a series of great webtools to go with it) completed.
I intend to get back to blogging everyday like you suggest once this is off my plate as I need to “Dig my well before I am thirsty” and each blog post will represent another shovel full of dirt!
I think the 30 day challenge really represents making the action a PRIORITY.
Anything you make a priority in your life you can achieve.
(I am consulting to three companies, starting my own business, writing a book, working with developers to build a series of web tools, golfing twice a month, racing sailboats weekly and every third weekend AND I have a fourteen month old daughter! AND an unbelievable wife) So I hate it when someone tells me they don’t have time! MAKE IT A PRIORITY and it will happen!
I hope to get back on the blog wagon soon. Thanks for all your help and encourage Mike. Oh and by the way – I work closer to 14 hour days – but I do take a day to go sailing!
The book is How To Eat An Elephant – One Day A Month To Financial Success.
Hey Frank,
Thanks for swinging by my blog and leaving the kind of thoughtful comments.
I totally agree with your comment of making the action a PRIORITY. Anything can be achieved and accomplished if you make it a priority. So true.
Great to hear of your success with the multitude of projects and congrats on the book launch!
ps – * I edited your comment to include the correct URL
Hey Mike – could you do a blog explaining how, in the comments of other blogs, I can create Anchor text that links to something rather than simply posting a long (tracking) URL ? Thanks for fixing it in this posts comments but I don’t know how to do it myself!
Frank
Hey Frank,
You need to use a small bit of HTML to link the anchor text in a blog comment section that does not have a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor (such as this blog).
The HTML code you want to use is located here:
http://w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
I kept trying to type the code in this comment, but it would always render because the comment box is strict HTML!
Let me know if you have any trouble and I will follow up with ya via email.
Thanks!
