Google+ is just a couple of months old and has already seen massive growth. But is that growth enough to overtake Facebook as the preferred hangout of so many millions of consumers? Time will tell but my hunch is that Google+ will ultimately win the brewing social commerce war. The real test will be when consumers respond and interact with the soon to be released Google+ Business Pages.

My hunch is that consumers are going to like the new business pages and that Google is going to like displaying their presence in the search results. Make sure your business is prepared to have a presence.

Take a look at a Starbucks mockup designed by a prepared graphic designer:

Many in the social media sphere are excited about the release of the Business Pages, but will the average consumer follow suit? What do you think?

The business page, I must admit looks pretty impressive – and better than the Facebook ones. But I’m not too sure if consumers are going to take to Google+ quite so much. I feel that many people are used to and are happy with Facebook now and because it’s been around for a good few years, people don’t really want to switch.
I honestly do think Google+ is good though, and hopefully will become more popular in the future, maybe word of mouth will increase it’s numbers in time.
Our CTO isn’t very keen on Google+ and found some stats on it – it shows how many of Google’s managers are using Google+ and it’s not too promising. Hopefully they’ve gone up since! http://www.lucidica.com/blog/cto/management-of-google-dont-seem-to-love-google/
